Pierre-Edouard launched the gift box concept in France in 2003.
In 12 years, Smartbox has become a worldwide leader achieving sales of €400M+ in 2014 with 20 000 points of sale in 20 countries.
Smartbox has served over 20 million customers since its creation and employs over 800 people.
Prior to this, he founded and managed BlackOrange, a software and video game provider, which posted revenues of 3M€ in its first year. After selling this business in 2001, Pierre-Edouard analyzed new start-up projects in different sectors before engaging in the Smartbox adventure.
In 1998, Pierre-Edouard began his career in financial markets at Société Générale and Exane. He left Exane to launch his first company.
Pierre-Edouard graduated from EM Lyon and La Sorbonne University.
Benjamin was the CEO of Prestashop, the leading open-source e-commerce platform with over 230K shops operating in 165 countries and O2i (an IT & professional training company, 50M€ sales, 300 employees, listed on Alternext).
He was also a funding partner at UFG Siparex and COO at Weinberg Capital Partners.
He founded Alafac.com (a students dedicated website).
Benjamin graduated from HEC Paris, Sciences Po Paris and the London School of Economics.
Benjamin joined Otium in April 2015.
Bruno notably served as interim COO at Gault&Millau in support of the CEO, working on the re-engineering of all business processes.
Prior to that, Bruno spent 6 years in Transaction Services in Paris (at Ernst&Young and as part of the founding team of Eight Advisory).
Bruno graduated from ESSEC Business School.
Bruno joined Otium in May 2012.
Antoine started his career in private equity in 2003 at Lazard, as an Analyst for the Midcap LBO funds (FPG & LFPI) and was promoted Investment Director in 2007.
He worked on more than 15 deals in a variety of situations (LBO, majority & minority stakes, mezzanine & bonds financing, mergers, expansion capital, debt refinancing) and monitored two companies up to exit.
Antoine then founded Financière Avanti in 2010, an investment & business development structure and managed several projects in various sectors (FMCG, sports & leisure, education) for active investors in France and abroad.
Antoine graduated from HEC Paris.
Antoine joined Otium in May 2015.
Alexis started his career in Mergers & Acquisitions, spending about 3 years between Rothschild and Credit Suisse (Telecom, Media & Technology team).
He then joined the German incubator Rocket Internet where he was instrumental in the development of various e-commerce startups in Turkey and Azerbaijan, before being appointed CFO of Jumia Nigeria.
In 2013, Alexis founded Skywall, a social networking mobile application available both on IOS and Android devices.
Alexis graduated from the Solvay Business School.
Alexis joined Otium Capital in May 2015.
Pierre founded and exited a subscription e-Commerce company (DandyBox). He also had experiences at Rocket Internet and McKinsey, where he worked on several digital engagements and due diligences.
Pierre graduated from HEC Paris business school.
Pierre joined Otium in January 2015.
Camille worked for e-commerce startups Birchbox and Alexandalexa in the beauty and fashion sectors, developing the brand portfolio.
She also has experiences at Ernst&Young where she audited the consolidated accounts of LVMH.
Camille graduated from ESCP Europe and owns a Master of Science in Management in the UK and in Germany.
Camille joined Otium in September 2015.
Philippe has 20 years’ experience in Fragrance & Cosmetics industry worldwide including 12 years in L’Oréal, focused on International Luxury industry with expertise both in developing worldwide solutions and driving operational B.U. for major brands and at an earlier stage, 8 years as entrepreneur, focused on French Mass markets with expertise in establishing business for new brands.
Philippe graduated from La Sorbonne University both in business Management and business Law.
Philippe joined Otium in January 2016.
