
Pierre-Edouard Stérin and the investment team combine a mix of entrepreneurial and investment experience coupled with a track-record and expertise in the leisure and local industries.
Pierre-Edouard is the Chairman of Otium Capital and of Smart&co (Smartbox).
In 2003, Pierre-Edouard launched the gift box concept in France. Within 7 years, Smartbox has become a worldwide leader achieving sales of over €350 million in 2010 with 20 000 points of sale in 20 countries. In 2011, Smartbox has served over 15 million customers since its creation and employs over 800 people.
Smartbox has the ambition to reach €1Bn in sales by 2013.
Since 2007, Pierre-Edouard has also founded and financed a dozen companies in the leisure industry.
Prior to this, he founded and managed BlackOrange, a software and video game provider. That company had a turnover of 3M€ in its first year. After selling this business in 2001, he analyzed about 20 new start-up projects in different sectors before engaging in the Smartbox adventure.
In 1998, Pierre-Edouard began his career in financial markets at Société Générale and Exane. He resigned from Exane to launch his first company.
Pierre-Edouard is a graduate of EM Lyon and La Sorbone University.
